Industrial Chemicals
Evonik’s Industrial Chemicals business unit is the leading supplier of industrial chemicals, such as 1-butene, DINP, alkoxides, cyanuric chloride, isononanol and hydrogen peroxide, as well as a preferred supplier of butadiene, alkyl chlorides, anhydrides, caustic potash solution, potassium carbonate, peracetic acid, triacetoneamine and special synthetic building blocks.
Our custom-made or standardized solutions improve the products of daily life or lend them specific properties. They are used, for example, in the biodiesel, chemicals, fuel, plastics, agricultural, petrochemical, environmental protection and pulp markets.
Our activities are divided among the four business lines C4-Chemistry, Active Oxygens,
Electrolysis Products & Alkoxides, and Agrochemicals & Polymer Additives. The business unit
is present in a total of 30 sites in Europe, North and South America, South Africa and Asia. With
over 4,500 employees, the business unit Industrial Chemicals generated sales of about €2.5 billion
in 2007.
