SEPK produces hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) which is used in many applications, i.e. pulp & paper, textiles, waste water treatment, etchants. A large fraction of the capacity is supplied to SKC (affiliate of SK Group) in Ulsan which licensed Evonik/Uhde’s HPPO technology in 2008 for the production of Propylenoxide.
This is the world’s first commercial HPPO plant. With a world wide capacity of 600,000 tons, Evonik is ranked number 2 among the hydrogen peroxide producers. 29 people are employed at Seoul and Ulsan, SEPK’s head office.

Evonik Degussa GmbH and Headwaters Inc. take over the business and establish J/V Company of Evonik Headwaters Korea Co., Ltd. (EDHK)
Evonik buys Headwaters’ shares to become 100% owner
SKC buys 45% of Evonik’s shares and the Company name was changed as SKC Evonik Peroxide Korea Co., Ltd. (SEPK)
