Evonik’s Coatings & Additives Business Unit is at home in the world of the coatings, the printing inks, and the adhesive and sealing compounds industries. The lubricants and plastics processing industries also represent important market segments.

In fiscal 2011 the Coatings & Additives Business Unit generated sales revenues of more than €1.7 billion.

Product groups

• Crosslinkers (VESTAMIN® hardeners for epoxy resins, VESTANAT® aliphatic isocyanates, VESTAGON® hardeners for powder coatings, specialty solvents)
• Coating & Adhesive Resins (Coating Resins: DYNAPOL® and VESTICOAT UB® are used in can coatings, coil coatings as well as packaging applications, DEGALAN® to make protective coatings and inks; Adhesive Resins: DYNACOLL®, VESTOPLAST®, VESTOWAX®, POLYVEST® and DEGALAN® binders for heat seal lacquers are employed in the automotive, the wood-processing, textile, packaging, and hygiene industries)
• Coating Additives (the TEGO® brand name includes defoamers, deaerators, wetting and dispersing additives, flow additives, radiation-curing additives, rheological additives, and hydrophobing agents; high quality binders as SILIKOFTAL®, SILIKOPHEN®, and SILIKOPON®)
• Oil Additives (VISCOPLEX® additives for the formulation of high-performance oils)
• Colorants product line (COLORTREND® Systems are used in Interior, Exterior and Façade coatings as well as in a number of specialty finishes; CHROMA-CHEM® Systems)
