Evonik Industries is a pioneer in the field of new energies. We produce energy from wood scrap, mine gas, biomass and tap into the earth's heat. In this way, we supply cities and industry with hot water and power - without burdening the environment or consuming limited resources. Unlike solar, wind, or hydrokinetik energy sources, biomass is reliably available, 24 hours a day.
Wellness from the depths
As a specialist in new energies, Evonik operates district heating supply systems in Erding, near Munich. For 10 years, public buildings, as well as homes and businesses, have been supplied with heat from a depth of 2,350 meters. It is with this same heat source that we also maintain Therme Erding, Europe's largest thermal spa, at "Caribbean" temperatures.
