CyPlus Idesa’s sodium cyanide plant successfully certified according to the International Cyanide Management Code (ICMC)

CyPlus Idesa S.A.P.I. de C.V.’s cyanide plant successfully passed the production protocol pre-audit in accordance with the International Cyanide Management Code for the Manufacture, Transport and Use of Cyanide in the Production of Gold (ICMC). Passing the audit is proof that CyPlus Idesa will meet the comprehensive, stringent requirements of the ICMC for cyanide producers.

CyPlus Idesa S.A.P.I de C.V. will start up its sodium cyanide plant in Coatzacoalcos in August 2016. The plant will be equipped with Evonik’s state-of-the-art technologies and has a production capacity of 40,000 metric tons. The new sodium cyanide plant will support the mining industry by providing reliable supplies. Evonik Mexico as established partner of the Mexican mining industry will exclusively sell the production output.

CyPlus Idesa S.A.P.I de C.V., Mexico, is a 50:50 joint venture of Grupo Idesa, Mexico and Evonik, Germany, duly incorporated in June 2013.
