Evonik to Attend Boao Forum
"Green Asia: Moving Towards Win-Win Through Changes." This is the motto behind the Boao Forum
for Asia, which Evonik will attend in Boao, China, from April 11 to 13, 2008. The BFA can be
compared to the World Economic Forum in Davos. It offers an important platform for an exchange of
ideas between important representatives of governments, industry, and science in Asia. Evonik is
one of the main sponsors of the forum.
As a creative and reliable industrial group, we accept our responsibility towards society and
the environment. At the forum, the focus for Evonik will be on energy efficiency. The
sustainability aspect is an important element of our growth, particularly in the dynamic growth
region of Asia.
We are especially expanding our market position in the Chinese market, one of the driving
forces behind the global economy. For example, Evonik already operates one of the largest research
and development centers of any multinational group in Shanghai. We are also currently expanding our
multi-user site in Shanghai Chemical Industry Park by building an integrated methyl methacrylate
complex.
