Dr. Werner Müller, chairman of the Executive Board of Evonik Industries AG, greeted German Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel at the Evonik booth, and showed her three major contributions Evonik is making to climate protection from the Chemicals, Energy and Real Estate Business Areas.
All about energy efficiency
Each in their own way, the three business areas are presenting their contributions in the areas of climate protection and energy efficiency at the Hannover Messe: An ultra-lightweight car with low fuel consumption shows how much chemistry by Evonik goes into today’s automobile. The Chemicals Business Area explains how heat from the earth can be successfully tapped. And with the Three-Liter House, the Real Estate Business Area proves that living comfortably need not mean living expensively.
Mutual interest
The Chancellor listened to Müller and Executive Board Member Dr. Klaus Engel with great interest during the tour. “We have a mutual interest in the welfare of Evonik,” Merkel stressed.
A deep purple scarf
To conclude the visit, Müller presented Merkel with a gift that was sure to remind the Chancellor of Evonik: a scarf in Evonik deep purple.
