Living on the Sunny Side
Evonik Industries is a pioneer in the field of new energies. And in building 60 privately owned homes in Moers-Kapellen, on the lower Rhine, we’re relying on solar power: The occupants of the Am Eulendyck “solar residential area” will soon have geothermal heating and hot water from solar energy.
Power from the sun
Some houses in the recently built housing area are also equipped with cutting-edge photovoltaic systems. The power generated from solar energy is fed into the existing grid of the local provider.
The energy of the future
The demand for privately owned housing is huge. Because, at a time when oil and gas prices are going through the roof, geothermal heat and solar technology—energy efficient, economical, and environmentally compatible—are the energy forms of the future. And in the houses built by Evonik, the future’s already here!
A totally favorable indoor climate
As a further plus for energy-efficient living, the new homes are equipped with domestic ventilation systems. These reduce heating costs by ensuring that the ventilation in the house is optimal at every time of year. The controlled ventilation utilizes the heat of the house instead of dissipating it into the atmosphere.
Live as you please
The new duplexes and row houses from Evonik satisfy all the requirements for a modern, energy-saving home. The houses meet contemporary living standards in other ways as well: They provide about 133 square meters (m 2) of living space on large plots ranging between 226 and 468 m 2—plenty of room for relaxed living on the sunny side.
