Tippecanoe, Indiana

North America

Evonik took over operation of the Tippecanoe Laboratories in Lafayette, Indiana, at the beginning of 2010. It is the company's second-largest site in the US.

In 1953, the US pharmaceutical giant, Eli Lilly and Company, built a plant to produce pharmaceuticals. Tippecanoe Laboratories was named after the county in which it resides. Over the years, the site grew to its current size. The site produces active ingredients and intermediates in two areas:

  • Bulk pharmaceutical manufacturing for active pharmaceutical ingredients

  • Animal Health products for veterinary drugs

The acquisition of Tippecanoe represents an important milestone in the strategy of the Health Care Business Line. Evonik has production plants in China and Europe, and now also in the US, and can offer customized production for customers worldwide.
