• PLEXIGLAS® molding compounds meet highest requirements in the automotive and lighting industries
• Versatility and design freedom in a range of applications
• Specialist presentation: “PMMA in inspiring applications in the automotive and lighting industries”
As part of the international Black & Bright campaign, Evonik’s brand of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) will be presented as an inspiring designer material at the Smart Plastics Forum in Milan on April 18 and 19.
The outstanding properties of the functional PLEXIGLAS® material impress designers as well as engineers. “PLEXIGLAS® is one of the world’s best-known brands for high-grade plastics and an extremely versatile material,” says Patrizio Marinone, senior business manager in the Molding Compounds Product Line of Evonik’s Performance Materials Segment. “It is, for example, particularly weathering-resistant and easily molded and fabricated. It also impresses by its low weight and excellent light guidance characteristics, which offer the maximum freedom of design.”
From high-gloss pillar covers on cars to light-guiding materials in luminaires, PLEXIGLAS® molding compounds can be found in many different fields of application
PLEXIGLAS® molding compounds also meet stringent requirements in lighting applications. Thanks to their unsurpassed transparency and brilliance, coupled with good formability, they satisfy the technical and design requirements of lighting planners and advertisers, lighting manufacturers and architects.
As an added plus at this year’s international forum, the Molding Compounds Product Line will present PLEXIGLAS® molding compounds in neutral gray specialty colors that are particularly suitable for production of multifunctional light covers with a black panel effect.
