PLEXIGLAS® with new brand presentation

PLEXIGLAS® is a material that has constantly reinvented itself in the past 75 years, because the world itself is constantly changing and PLEXIGLAS® has always provided new answers to equally new challenges. Thanks to its high functionality and numerous special grades, the chameleon-like material continues to surprise users with its new properties and plays a crucial role in a wide variety of applications for tomorrow and beyond. With its new brand mark, Evonik Röhm GmbH, the company that invented the material, intends to signal very clearly that PLEXIGLAS®, with its infinite possibilities, is the inspiring material that helps to shape the future.

The color selected for the new brand presentation, Evonik Deep Purple, stands for creativity. It is also the color that represents Evonik, the creative industrial group, to which the Performance Polymers Business Unit and its best-known product PLEXIGLAS® belong. The decision in favor of Evonik Deep Purple demonstrates forward-looking alignment with the group and fosters the mutual reinforcement of both brands. The brand mark symbol is called “Swing.” Its openness and dynamism symbolize the infinite possibilities offered by PLEXIGLAS®.

A variety of colors, free formability, high-quality look and feel of the most diverse surfaces, the combination with modern LED technology and a myriad of intelligent functions – that is what PLEXIGLAS® embodies, now and in the future.

And that is precisely what the manufacturer of this material wants to spell out in all the relevant markets, exploding the old myth that PLEXIGLAS® is a transparent plastic used to replace glass.

In addition to the change of presentation, the PLEXIGLAS® brand family has also been restructured. Top products and services have been reorganized to create a stronger focus and combine forces. Although this will initially involve some changes for customers, in the long term it gives them much simpler and faster access to the entire product range.

At this year’s EuroShop tradeshow in Düsseldorf, Evonik is launching its “Create your world of wow” campaign. This campaign developed by the Düsseldorf-based brand agency XEO uses several themes to express one and the same idea: how to make your creations truly sensational!

The Performance Polymers Business Unit of Evonik Industries is a worldwide manufacturer of PMMA products sold under the PLEXIGLAS® trademark on the European, Asian, African and Australian continents and under the trademark ACRYLITE® in the Americas.
