Sustainability at Evonik

We are committed to comply with and implement numerous internationally recognized standards, initiatives and programs. We complemented them with own guidelines and principles of conduct.

We distinguish between internal and external commitments.

  • Code of Conduct for Evonik’s employees

         Our Code of Conduct is summarizing general principles and obligations which all employees have to observe.

  • Global Social Policy     The Global Social Policy is committing the company and all employees to observe human rights, the core labor  standards of the International Labor Organisation and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises.

  • Values for the Environment, Safety, Health and Quality     Protecting people and the environment, treating our partners fairly and focussing on the needs of our customers.

  • Policy Statement on Human Rights:     Stipulates our human rights expectations of personnel, business partners and other parties.

  • Code of Conduct for Suppliers     Thereby we express our expectations to our suppliers.

Examples of external commitments and memberships
  • UN Global Compact     We are integrating the 10 principles of the Global Compact in our businesses. The principles comprise human rights, labor rights, precautionary environmental protection and fighting corruption.

  • Responsible Care     Responsible Care is a worldwide intiative of the chemical industry to bring about a continuous improvement in environmental protection, safety and health.

  • Chemie3     This a joint inititative of the German Chemical Industry Association (VCI), the German Mining, Chemical and Energy Industrial Union (IGBCE), and the German Chemical Industry Employers’s Federation (BAVC) to drive forward sustainable development.
