For people who wear glasses, wearing a face mask is doubly uncomfortable - especially at cooler temperatures: If they come in from the cold into a heated room, the lenses of their glasses fog up in no time, and it takes quite a long time for the fog to clear. And that carries a high risk of tripping and falling. The situation is the same for sunglasses, especially during the cooler winter sun months when your warm breath can also cause the lenses to fog up.
Stand still, take off your glasses, wait - that's one option. Alternatively, to clean the lenses, you can use a product that also protects against fogging. Window cleaners for cars often have this property. Evonik also offers its customers in the industrial cleaning sector a corresponding formulation, i.e. suitable ingredients and a recipe for a ready-to-use product. The formulation not only protects against this, but also causes fogging to clear up more quickly if it does occur.
Last summer, Care Solutions already took a close look at consumers' changing needs as a result of COVID-19 and put together a comprehensive package of solutions for cleaning and care under corona conditions: the so-called "take care now" concept.
"We want to help our customers bring products to market that meet consumers' real needs and make their lives easier and better. After all, this is what defines us as part of the Nutrition & Care life sciences division," says Yann d'Hervé, head of the Care Solutions business line. "COVID-19 has changed a lot of things for people. For example, there is much more focus on safety and cleanliness."
For example, the "take care now" concept includes formulations and ingredients for reliable and convenient-to-use household cleaners - for wiping surfaces, for example. But also care solutions for skin that can become irritated from wearing masks or stressed from washing hands so often. Plus, a new formulation for cleaning glasses with an anti-fog effect.
