Introduction to Kathrin Lehmann

Is Kathrin exactly the right contact person for you? In our short questionnaire, she briefly introduces herself:

MY CAREER PATH IN A NUTSHELL:

Graduate chemist in the field of organic synthesis at Humboldt-Universität Berlin

  •

At Evonik since 2000, originally in the Coatings & Additives business line as a developer for wetting and dispersing agents

  •

Establishment of the Plastics and Polymers division in the Interface & Performance business line since 2008

  •

Managing global application technology for the development of additives, including for recycling

THAT’S WHY I’M A GOOD CONTACT PERSON FOR YOU:

I’m happy to be your sparring partner for discussing new ideas and their potential feasibility. But also when looking for partners in the recycling industry or OEMs: I’ve been committed to cooperating with institutes and universities and implementing funding projects for over 15 years.

THE FOLLOWING PLASTIC PRODUCT IS ABSOLUTELY INDISPENSABLE IN MY DAY-TO-DAY WORK:

Safety goggles.

I’M PUZZLING OVER THE FOLLOWING CHALLENGE AT THE MOMENT:

How can packaging be optimized to simplify recycling? How can printing ink be replaced in technical processes to improve recycled materials? How can the organization of recycling logistics be improved, e.g., for the recycling of around 300 kg of plastic from used cars?

WHAT I FIND ESPECIALLY INTERESTING ABOUT THE TOPIC OF CIRCULARITY:

That I can make a very personal contribution to making the world a better place and give something back.

MY FAVORITE PLASTIC OBJECT IS:

Children’s drinking bottle with cap.
