Ratings and Indices

The rating agency Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) recognizes Evonik's performance Evonik's performance in the area of sustainability with an "AA" rating. This puts Evonik in the category of "Leader." We performed particularly well in the area of corporate governance.

Evonik's sustainability performance was examined by the rating agency Morningstar Sustainalytics: Of a total of around 600 companies in the chemical companies in the chemicals sector Evonik is among the top 5 percent. The ESG risk rating considers material risks in the areas of environment, social and governance of a company. For the first time Morningstar Sustainalytics attests Evonik strong management of these issues, resulting in a rating of "low risk" only.

In 2021 Evonik received a grade of A- from CDP for reporting relevant data on climate protection (CDP Climate Change). For its water reporting (CDP Water Security), it was awarded a grade of B. For it's forest reporting (CDP Forest) it was awarded a grade of B. In addition, Evonik was ranked as a CDP Supplier Engagement Leader in 2022.

ISS-ESG rates Evonik's sustainability performance of Evonik with a "B-". This means Prime status as the highest level of sustainability level and rank among the top 10 percent of of companies in the chemicals sector.

As a founding member of the Together for Sustainability (TfS) initiative, Evonik drives forward transparency and sustainability in the supply chain and is subject to annual assessments. The EcoVadis rating agency, partner of TfS, awarded us in 2023 with a gold rating for our sustainability performance.

Evonik is a member of the FTSE4Good Europe Index and the FTSE4Good Developed Index. These index families of the London-based FTSE Group rank companies, for example, in the in the categories "Environmental Management "Human and labor rights," "Safety and health," and
and health," "sustainability in the supply supply chain," and "corporate governance/management".

Evonik is listed in the STOXX® Global ESG Leaders Index. This index, which was launched by Deutsche Börse among others, lists the best 25 percent of sustainable companies in the investment universe on transparency in environmental, social, and governance performance.

In the Euronext index family, which evaluates corporate ESG performance, Evonik was once again included in the Europe 120 and Eurozone 120 indices. The evaluation is based on up to 330 indicators covering 38 sustainability criteria.

Evonik was included in the Solactive Europe Corporate Social Responsibility Index.
